I get to realize that trying to fight my battles at once will be very hard for me, and it will not improve my productivity. So I come to think of it, rather than trying to beat them all at once, why can’t I just pick and fight one by one?
For context, I’ve not been able to make content for myself for a couple of months now, and in the sense of trying to be productive, I thought of doing things gradually, which is why I termed the three stages of production “battles”: Pre-production (Writing/Scripting), Production (Shooting the video), and Post-production (Editing). So, I think you get it (I’m lucky you’re reading this).
For months now, I find it hard to go through the whole process of making content, starting from scripting, mood boarding, knowing what to shoot, how to shoot it, and editing. It has become difficult to go through this process, so I procrastinate more.
So I thought to myself, how about doing one at a time? So I picked the writing aspect, just like I’m doing right now, posting my write-ups on my blog. If I could write consistently and publish on this blog, I would be able to move a step further by shooting videos for my ideas, while I already have the scripts.
So, fighting the right battle that leads to others should be what I focus on. After seeing that I’m consistent with one and it comes with ease, like I don’t procrastinate on it, and ideas keep flowing, I’ll move on to another and try to be consistent with it too.
So the logic is: write – stay consistent, move to shooting – stay consistent, and finally edit – and boom, idea fully polished.
Probably, if anyone is reading this, yeah, you, all I’ve been saying is just a message to myself, and I want to believe all I’ve said so far can also work for you if you interpret it within your line of work. Oh shit, why am I even saying this… everyone is not like me… I’m just a big procrastinator trying to find excuses to feed my inner critic. 😂 Bye.
